
Ohio Valley Lumber Company was founded in 1911 on Fourteenth Street, along the Beltline Railroad in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
Albert Schell along with his two sons purchased the business shortly after World War II. Albert Schell managed Ohio Valley Lumber and was succeeded by his son and daughter in law, James K. and Phyllis Schell. James K. Schell passed away in 1981 leaving his wife Phyllis and their two sons Bill and Jim to manage the business. Craig Williams joined the management team in 2003.


Ohio Valley Lumber Company is a progressive building material supplier with two locations to serve our customers. The corporate offices as well as the distribution yard and a retail store are located in Ambridge Pennsylvania. Our second location in Wexford Pennsylvania is a showroom only and presents our customers with an opportunity to make their selections in a quiet and a professional environment.
Ohio Valley Lumber has grown into a Company that sells and supports much more than just lumber. Our products and services offered have grown to include:
